Women's Basketball Travels to No. 5 Notre Dame Sunday

THE FLATS — Georgia Tech women’s basketball makes the return trip to No. 5 Notre Dame for a Sunday matinee in Purcell Pavilion. Tip is slated for 1 p.m. on RSN, locally on Fox Sports South in Atlanta.

STARTING FIVE AGAINST NOTRE DAME
1. Georgia Tech begins its final four games of the regular season making the return trip to Notre Dame for a Sunday matinee at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on RSN, locally on Fox Sports South in Atlanta.
2. The Jackets and Fighting Irish have met nine times in program history with Notre Dame leading the all-time series, 9-0. Notre Dame has taken all four meetings in South Bend, including last year’s 90-69 decision.
3. The Jackets picked up their second straight ACC win of the season on Thursday, defeating Boston College, 67-43 behind a strong fourth quarter. Tech will look to push its win streak to three straight and pick up its first-ever program win over ND on Sunday.
4. Georgia Tech is led in scoring this season by Francesca Pan who is averaging 13.0 points per game. Elo Edeferioka continues to lead the Jackets on the boards, pulling down 6.4 rpg.
5. Head coach MaChelle Joseph is in her 15th season on The Flats and carries an all-time career record of 289-187. Joseph is the all-time winningest coach in program history and holds the highest winning percentage in Yellow Jacket history at 60.9 percent.

-Be the first-ever program win over Notre Dame and snap a nine-game streak the Fighting Irish hold over the Jackets
-Mark the first win over a top-25 team since Tech defeated No. 24 Syracuse last season on Jan. 15, 2017
-Be the first win over a top-10 program since Jan. 6, 2011 when the Jackets defeated No. 8 North Carolina, 71-70
-Mark the 290th win of Coach Joseph’s career
-Be the 665th all-time program win in Georgia Tech women’s basketball history and move the Yellow Jackets to 665-614 overall

SERIES HISTORY
Georgia Tech and Notre Dame first met in 1996 as part of the Comfort Inn Downtown Classic in Atlanta. The Fighting Irish have been ranked in the top 10 in all nine meetings in program history and come into Sunday’s contest carrying a No. 5 national ranking. Tech has visited Notre Dame four times with the Fighting Irish taking all four decisions. In the first meeting between the foes this season in Atlanta, Notre Dame used a 62.3 percent (33-53) shooting clip from the field to pick up a 77-54 win as the No. 2 ranked program in the country. Kaylan Pugh posted a team-high 17 points, but the Jackets were held to a 30.8 percent shooting efficiency for the game.
