THE FLATS – A sixteen-year veteran of Division I college basketball, Rob Norris has been promoted to assistant head coach as announced by Georgia Tech women’s basketball head coach MaChelle Joseph.
“Rob has done an outstanding job organizing our recruiting efforts and has made his impact felt on our program,” commented Joseph. “We are excited about the future of our program and I look forward to working with Coach Norris, our women’s basketball staff and administration to move the needle in our program in the near future.”
Norris joined the Yellow Jacket’s staff in 2015 and has helped guide Tech to two 20-plus win seasons and two postseason appearances since his arrival on The Flats. Most recently the Jackets capped a 2016-17 campaign with a run to the WNIT Championship game and finished the season with a 22-15 overall record.
On the recruiting trail, Norris helped secure this season the 16th-ranked recruiting class to The Flats, signing Kierra Fletcher, Daijah Jefferson and Taja Cummings in addition to Breanna Brown.
Prior to his arrival at Tech, Norris held coaching stints at VCU, Eastern Michigan and several stops in collegiate men’s basketball programs.
