CLEMSON, S.C. – Georgia Tech’s potent offense struck early to help the 26th-ranked Yellow Jackets secure the series Sunday with a 7-5 win at No. 23 Clemson.
With the win, Georgia Tech (27-13, 10-10 ACC) won its first series at Clemson (26-14, 9-12 ACC) since 2005. It is Tech’s second ACC road series of the season (No. 3 North Carolina).
Burton Dulaney (2-3) picked up his first win since the season opener, allowing one run on one hit with two strikeouts and five walks in 3.2 innings. Matthew Gorst notched his 10th save of the season, scattering two hits in 1.0 inning of relief.
THE BASICS
• Georgia Tech won its second ACC road series of the season.
• Tech finished the weekend series with 30 runs on 45 hits.
• Sunday was the 220th series meeting between Georgia Tech and Clemson. Clemson leads the all-time series 109-108-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Tech picked up where it left off Saturday night with a 4-run 1st inning. After back-to-back walks to open the game, Matt Gonzalez drilled an RBI single through the left side for a 1-0 lead. Tristin English then followed with an RBI single to left-center. Trevor Craport and Ryan Peurifoy each added RBI singles for a 4-0 lead.
• Wade Bailey ripped an RBI single up the middle for a 5-0 lead in the 4th inning.
• Clemson scored its first run in 13 innings with back-to-back RBI singles the 4th, cutting Tech’s lead to 5-2.
• The Tigers clawed to within two runs, 5-3. Seth Beer played a run in the 5th on an RBI sac fly to deep center.
• Georgia Tech would get that run back in the 6th thanks to Connor Justus’ solo blast to left.
• The Yellow Jackets added another insurance run in the 8th for a 7-3 lead. Peurifoy wedged an RBI double into the right-center gap, scoring Brandt Stallings.
• With the bases loaded in the 9th, the Jackets called on Matthew Gorst. Clemson scored two runs in the 9th, but Gorst induced two straight ground balls with the bases loaded for the win.

• Junior reliever Matthew Gorst notched his 10th save of the season. His 10 saves are tied for the fourth-most on Tech’s single-season list (Jim Poole, 1987). His 11 career saves are tied for 11th all-time (Brad Rulon).
• Georgia Tech recorded 10+ hits for the 25th time this season, and for the sixth straight game.
• Connor Justus hit his second home run of the weekend and third in the last four games.
• Senior LF Matt Gonzalez now has 263 career hits and is the current NCAA leader among active players in career hits. Gonzalez’s 263 hits rank 16th on Tech’s career list.
• Junior CF Ryan Peurifoy posted his second straight multi-hit game, going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI.
• Freshman RHP Jake Lee made his second career start and second in the last five days.
• Connor Justus (79 games), Wade Bailey (62 games) and Kel Johnson (33 games) each extended their career-best consecutive starts streaks on Sunday at Clemson.
