KENNESAW, Ga. – Georgia Tech freshmen Tristin English and Joey Bart each drove in a career-high four runs Tuesday night as the 21st-ranked Yellow Jackets cruised to a 13-2 win at Kennesaw State.

With the win, Georgia Tech (16-4) has now nine straight road games in the state of Georgia. The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series 18-6 against Kennesaw State (7-14).

Senior LF Matt Gonzalez, who entered the game tied for the NCAA lead among active players with 239 career hits, went 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Junior LHP Ben Parr (4-0) earned his team-leading fourth win of the season, tossing 2.0 innings of scoreless relief. Georgia Tech retired 15 of the last 16 Kennesaw State batters.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Georgia Tech scratched the scoreboard first. Thanks to Kel Johnson’s 2-RBI triple to the right field corner, the Yellow Jackets took a 2-0 lead in the 1st.
• The Jackets added three more runs in the 3rd for a 5-0 lead. Joey Bart hit a high chopping infield single over the pitcher’s head to score Connor Justus. Tristin English later cleared the bases with a 2-RBI single back up the middle for the five-run advantage.
• In the 4th, Tech added three more runs for an 8-0 lead. Gonzalez doubled to right field to score Justus and Arden Pabst. Bart followed with an RBI double to left field.
• Kennesaw State finally got on the board with two runs in the 4th, but that was all the Owls could muster.
• English drove home two more runs in the 6th for a 10-2 Jackets lead.
• Tech’s final three runs came in the 7th. After Wade Bailey scored on a fielding error by the pitcher with the bases loaded, Bart cleared the bases with a 2-RBI single up the middle for the final 13-2 tally.

• LF Matt Gonzalez extended his season-best hit streak to 7 games with flare single to shallow right field in the 1st inning. Gonzalez finished 3-for-3 with 2 RBI.
• RF Kel Johnson extended his career-best hit streak to 15 games with a 2-RBI triple to the right field corner in the 1st inning. It was Johnson’s second career triple. Johnson finished 1-for-4.
• CF Ryan Peurifoy extended his season-best hit streak to 7-games with a single to right field in the 2nd. Peurifoy finished 1-for-4.
• DH Joey Bart went 3-for-4 with a career-high 4 RBI. It is Bart’s sixth multi-hit game and fifth multi-RBI game of the season.
• 1B Tristin English went 2-for-4 with a career-high 4 RBI.
• Gonzalez is the NCAA active career leader in both hits (242) and sacrifice flies (18).
• Through 20 games, Georgia Tech leads the nation in both double plays turned (36) and double plays per game (1.8).

No. 21 Georgia Tech will face another Top-25 ACC road test at No. 3 North Carolina this weekend. The three-game series begins at 6 p.m. Thursday. Friday (5 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m.) will be streamed live on ESPN3.
