THE FLATS – Senior Rasheeda McAdoo and juniors Johnnise Renaud and Paige Hourigan all earned recognition on Tuesday appearing in the ITA’s Preseason Rankings.
Renaud checks in at No. 20 in the ITA preseason singles rankings. The North Miami, Fla., native posted a 24-14 overall record last season, including a 16-9 mark in dual competition. Renaud earned a singles bid to the NCAA Singles Championship last season where she advanced to the second round. She wrapped up the season earning First Team All-ACC.
Hourigan falls in closely behind Renaud in the preseason singles rankings, appearing at No. 23. Hourigan, a native of Turakina, New Zealand, recorded a 22-13 overall singles record last season, which included an 11-2 ACC mark. A Third Team All-ACC selection as a sophomore, Hourigan also earned a bid to the NCAA Singles Championship where she reached the second round.
Rounding out Georgia Tech’s representation in the singles preseason rankings is McAdoo, appearing at No. 77. A senior from Boca Raton, Fla., McAdoo compiled a 27-11 overall singles mark last season. The senior led the Yellow Jackets with a team-best 19 dual match wins.
The doubles duo of Hourigan and McAdoo entered the preseason rankings as the 35th doubles tandem in the country.
The Yellow Jackets travel to Newport, R.I. this weekend to compete in the first-ever Hall of Fame ITA Grass Court Invitational to open the 2016 fall season.
