ATLANTA – The 26th-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets extended their in-state road winning streak to 11 games Wednesday night with an 11-5 win over cross-town rival Georgia State.

With the win, Georgia Tech (25-12) improved to 15-4 in its last 19 games against in-state rivals. Georgia Tech is 6-2 against in-state rivals this season.

The Yellow Jackets have now beaten Georgia State (16-20) seven straight times and are 63-10 all-time against the Panthers.

• Georgia Tech opened the scoring in the 1st thanks to a Matt Gonzalez RBI double, followed by a Joey Bart RBI single.
• Georgia State cut Tech’s lead in half in the 1st on Jarrett Hood’s RBI double to right.
• Connor Justus’ solo home run in the 2nd put the Jackets back up two, 3-1.
• Joey Bart’s RBI groundout in the 3rd upped Tech’s lead to 4-1.
• After a Georgia State run in the 3rd, Georgia Tech answered with a 4-run 4th to take an 8-2 lead.
• A Wade Bailey sacrifice fly gave Georgia Tech a 9-2 lead in the 7th.
• Georgia State plated two runs in the bottom of the 7th on a sacrifice fly and a fielding error by Connor Justus.
• Tech made it an 11-4 lead in the 8th on Ryan Peurifoy’s 2-RBI single to left.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Freshman RHP Jake Lee made his career-first start Wednesday night. Lee is the 10th different Tech pitcher to start this season (fifth freshman).
Jake Lee went a career-high 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on four hits. It is Lee’s second win of the season.
• Junior Coleman Poje made his third starter for the Yellow Jackets and his first at 1st base.
Connor Justus hit his 3rd home run of the season, matching his career total entering the season. All six of Justus’ career home runs have been solo shots.
Matt Gonzalez moved into sole possession of 18th place on Georgia Tech’s career hit list with 259 base hits. Gonzalez is tied with UConn’s Bobby Melley for the NCAA career lead among active players.

No. 26 Georgia Tech travels up I-85 to face No. 23 Clemson for a three-game ACC Series. Friday and Saturday games will begin at 6:30 p.m., while Sunday’s game is slated for a 1 p.m. start. All three games will be broadcast live on WREK 91.1 FM.
