No. 6 Jackets Host Pair of ACC Matches Friday, Saturday

THE FLATS – The No. 6 Georgia Tech women’s tennis team closes out the regular season home slate this weekend welcoming Boston College on Friday and Notre Dame on Saturday for Senior Day.

THE SCENE: Georgia Tech, winners of the past 14 matches and ranked No. 6 nationally, looks to continue its winning ways this weekend and recognize both its seniors on Saturday. The Jackets remain atop the ACC standings, owning a 10-0 league mark to go along with a 20-2 overall record. Boston College, after most recently falling to Duke, comes into the weekend with a 9-10 overall mark and a 4-7 ACC ledger. The Jackets and Eagles will square off at 2 p.m. on Friday.

On Saturday before the match, Tech will recognize seniors Alexa Anton-Ohlmeyer and Rasheeda McAdoo competing in their final regular season home match. The Jackets will then hold first serve against No. 28 Notre Dame at noon. The Fighting Irish enter the weekend with a 16-5 overall record and 7-4 conference mark. Notre Dame plays at Florida State on Thursday before arriving in Atlanta for Saturday’s match.

ITA RANKINGS – In the latest ITA rankings released Tuesday, Tech boasts three Jackets ranked nationally in singles: No. 42 Rasheeda McAdoo, No. 81 Paige Hourigan and No. 93 Johnnise Renaud. Tech has one doubles tandems ranked in No. 20 Johnnise Renaud/Rasheeda McAdoo.

Boston College’s Lexi Borr sits at No 82 in the national rankings. Notre Dame has one singles players ranked in No. 72 Monica Robinson.

LAST TIME OUT – Tech moved 11-0 at home with a 4-0 victory over No. 33 Virginia in its lone match last week.
