Women's Track Members Turn In Solid Performance At Cardinal Invitational

Palo Alto, Calif. – Three members of the Georgia Tech women’s track team turned in solid performances at the Cardinal Invitational on Friday night. The one-day meet featured some of the top runners in the nation and was hosted by Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.

The Yellow Jackets had a pair of season-best times in the meet, along with two top-10 finishes in a strong field of competitors.

The first race for Tech was the 3000-meter steeplechase, as freshman Renee Metivier finished fourth in the event with a time of 10:37.75. Nicole Campbell followed Metivier by running in the 1500 meters, and finished 17th in a Tech season-best time of 4:26.61.

The final event of the day for the Jackets was the 10,000 meters, in which sophomore Amy Dock placed 10th with a season-best time of 35:09.94.

Georgia Tech’s track teams will return to action on Sunday, when they compete in the Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
