ATLANTA–The Georgia Tech football team will wear a special 1970s-era uniform as part of Throwback Thursday when the Yellow Jackets host Virginia in a nationally-televised ESPN game on Thursday, Sept. 21 at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
The Jackets will replicate the uniform worn by 1970 consensus all-American Renso “Rock” Perdoni, complete with gold jersey with blue numerals trimmed in white, white pants and white helmet. Tech wore various gold jerseys from 1968-71, first with gold helmets then with white helmets, before returning to white jerseys and gold helmets in 1972.
