Jorgenson Out for the Season with Knee Injury

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech freshman basketball player Travis Jorgenson will miss the rest of the 2013-14 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Wednesday night’s game against Dayton.

The 6-0 guard sustained the injury in the second half of the game, and an MRI test taken Thursday revealed the tear. Surgery to repair the ligament will be scheduled in the next two weeks.

“This is unfortunate for Travis and a loss for us,” said Gregory. “He had put in a lot of work and was poised to have a very good freshman year. But we know he’s going to get the best treatment and rehab possible, and with his work ethic, he’ll make a full recovery and be back on the court next year.”

The Columbia, Mo., native had played in all four games off the bench, averaging 4.3 points and 2.5 assists in just under 20 minutes per game.
