Georgia Tech's Mason Headed to Senior Bowl

Jan. 22, 2015

MOBILE, Ala. – Georgia Tech offensive line Shaquille Mason will play for the South team Saturday in the 2015 Reese’s Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on NFL Network.

Mason is the 54th Yellow Jacket to play in the Senior Bowl and the first offensive lineman since Mansfield Wrotto in 2007.

The Columbia, Tenn., native started all 14 games at right guard for Tech’s 2014 Orange Bowl champion team. He was named a first-team All-American by USA TODAY, second team by Sports Illustrated, FWAA, and Phil Steele, and third team by the Associated Press. He helped anchor the offensive line that blocked for the nation’s top rushing offense that accumulated a school-record 4,789 rushing yards.

Mason and the Jackets offensive line allowed just 0.79 sacks per game in 2014, leading the ACC and ranking second nationally.
