Bianca Stewart Paces Women's Track & Field on Day One of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – Georgia Tech women’s track & field athlete Bianca Stewart registered an impressive second place finish in the high jump to lead the Yellow Jacket women’s track & field team on day one of the 125th Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

Stewart, a sophomore from Maplewood, N.J., registered a final mark of 5 feet, 7.75 inches to finish second overall. Stewart was joined in the event by fellow sophomore Terri Ann Grant, who finished in a tie for 16th overall with a leap of 5 feet, 4.5 inches.

In other action, sophomore Mary Kate DuBard finished sixth in the 10,000m championships, crossing the finish line in 35:15.67, which was a new career-best for the sophomore. In the 400m hurdles, Jasmine Isley placed 11th overall in a time of 60.05, with teammate Leslie Njoku finished 17th in 60.47. In the final individual event of note on the night, Annie Martin also registered an 11th place finish in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:49.12.
