Yellow Jackets to go Pink this Weekend

Oct. 14, 2010

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech Athletic Association will go pink this weekend in support of breast cancer awareness with numerous initiatives taking place.

The Yellow Jacket volleyball team is hosting their annual “Dig for the Cure” event Friday at O’Keefe Gym beginning at 7 p.m. Tech’s volleyball players will take flat donations or per dig to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation Atlanta Chapter. The team will wear pink jerseys and fans will be given pink shakers as they enter the gym. Tech representatives will be on hand selling raffle tickets for a number of pink prizes and pink Georgia Tech apparel will be on sale.

On Saturday, fans will notice a slightly different look to the field at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The lines in the endzone will be painted pink, while fans should not be surprised to see some players and cheerleaders supporting the cause by wearing something pink. Current student-athletes will be walking around campus prior to the game to raise money for the cause.
