2014-15 (Junior, Georgia Tech): Made immediate impact in first season after transferring from Auburn … Was part of Tech’s school-record setting 400 free relay that finished third at ACC Championship in time of 2:52.47 … Competed for Jackets on 200 free, 400 free relays at NCAA Championship … 200 free relay at NCAA Championship put down time of 1:18.16, which was just three-tenths shy of school record, good for 18th place … Recorded career-best times in 50 free, 100 free, 100 fly … 50 free time of 20.14 was Tech’s fourth-fastest of year, good for 27th at ACC Championship … Scored points at ACC Championship with impressive seventh-place showing in 100 free, putting down Tech’s second-fastest time of year of 43.19 … That time was also second-fastest in school history behind Andrew Kosic’s record 42.30, also set in 2014-15 … Placed 17th at ACC Championship in 100 fly — also career-best time of 47.71.

2013-14 (Sophomore, Auburn): Set personal bests in 50 free (20.25), 100 free (44.24), 200 free (1:37.49) at Auburn Invitational … Earned first career NCAA ‘B’ cut times in 100 free and 200 free, but did compete at NCAA Championships … Swam as anchor in 400 medley relay team at Auburn Invitational, taking sixth, splitting 43.92 … Finished sixth at Texas in dual meet with time of 1:42.36 … Time in 50 free ranked tied for eighth on team … Posted ninth-fastest time of team in 100 free.

2012-13 (True Freshman, Auburn): Competed in five events during year (50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 back, 200 back) … Also swam in 200 free relay in dual against Kentucky, swimming third leg of winning team that clocked 1:22.47, fifth-fastest time on team during year … Fastest 50 free time came at Georgia Invite (21.31), where he placed 35th.

Pre-College: Attended Alexandria International School … Swam for Egypt’s National Junior Team at the Junior Arab Championships in 2009 … Won gold in 200 back, silver in 100 back, bronze in 200 IM, 50 back.

Personal: Parents are Hani Hammoud and Azza Arafat … Has one sibling, Yomna Hammoud … Plans to major in aerospace engineering.
