Before Tech: Swam for seven years under coach Jon Rudd at Plymouth College in Plymouth, Devon, England … Competed for Israel at the 2015 European Short Course Championships in Israel … Won the gold medal in the 100 fly at the Israeli Senior Short Course Championships in 2015-16 … Also picked up a silver medal in the 200 fly event at the 2015-16 Israeli Senior Short Course Championships.
Personal: Full name is Tamir Gonen Cohen … Born on Jan. 25, 1997 in Kfar Saba, Israel … Daughter of Eyal and Galit Gonen Cohen … Has two younger siblings named Segev and Liri … Began swimming at three months old and then started swimming competitively at the age of nine … Chose Georgia Tech because of the high level of academics, high level of athletics, the facilities and the location … Plans to major in mechanical engineering.
