At-Large Bid to 2021 NCAA Doubles Championship

2020-21
Spring: Went 9-16 in singles action and 3-7 against ACC opponents…Topped Duke’s Chloe Beck in straight-sets in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, helping Tech clinch a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships…Edge Taisiya Pachkaleva of Pepperdine at National Indoors in three sets…Collected a straight set win over Nandini Das of Florida State in league action…Partnered with Ava Hrastar in doubles action to go 8-8 and climb as high as No. 16 in national rankings…Pair upset then-No. 16 doubles pair in NC State’s Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami in a tiebreak…Hrastar and Cohen earned at-large bid to the NCAA Championships doubles draw…Cohen also posted a 6-3 doubles record with teammate Ruth Marsh and went 3-3 with Carol Lee…Overall, Cohen combined to post a 17-15 doubles mark, including a 5-7 ACC record.

2019-20
Spring: Went 9-6 in dual singles play, including a 3-3 ACC record…Finished with a 14-9 overall singles record…Posted a 9-7 dual doubles record, going 7-2 from the No. 3 position, mainly with teammate Nami Ostuka…Opened spring season with a five-match win streak…Clinched Tech’s win over No. 13 South Carolina (1/26) from court three, defeating Silvia Chinellato in three-sets, securing Tech’s berth into ITA National Team Indoor Championships…Collected first ACC win of the season against No. 9 Virginia’s (2/21) Amber O’Dell, 6-4, 6-4…Won three-straight ACC singles matches…Opened spring season in doubles with partner Rosie Garcia Gross, winning against Presbyterian (1/18)…Partnered with Otsuka remainder of season…Duo clinched the doubles point against Wisconsin (1/25), 7-5, over Seah/Zordani…Cruised to a 6-2 win over Cruz/Martinez of South Carolina (1/26) to help the Jackets win the doubles point…At ITA Indoors, picked up doubles win over No. 12 Ohio State’s Wolf/Jones, 6-3…Clinched doubles point with Otsuka over Miami (2/14) to open ACC play, defeating Tahan/Achong at No. 2, 6-4…Pair clinched doubles point against Wake Forest (3/1), edging Brylin/Nihalani at No. 3, 6-3.

Fall: Went 5-3 in singles and 5-3 in doubles play…Went 4-2 in the Furman Fall Classic, picking up a pair of singles and doubles wins…Partnered with Nami Otsuka to go 2-1 in doubles in the season-opening tournament at Furman, advancing to the title match…Went 1-1 in both singles and doubles at the ITA Southeast Regional…Concluded fall season at the Rebel Invite in Las Vegas, collecting two singles wins and two doubles wins…Advanced to singles final of flight two.

2018-19
Spring: Put together a 16-10 overall singles record and 12-15 doubles record in her collegiate debut… Competed in doubles primarily with teammate Nami Otsuka, producing an 11-14 overall record…Captured her first collegiate victory at the Michigan Invitational to open the spring season against Ohio State and went 2-1 in the tournament…Also went 2-1 in doubles play in Michigan, winning her first doubles match with teammate Nadia Gizdova against Ohio State…Won first dual doubles match with Otsuka against Ohio State in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend (1/26) at Tech…Defeated Georgia’s (2/23) Morgan Coppoc/Meg Kowalski at the three seed to give Tech it’s only doubles win…Opened the ACC season with a three-set victory over Pitt’s (2/24) M. Perez Noguera at the five seed…Pocketed first ACC doubles win against Syracuse (3/3) at the two seed with Otsuka…Also picked up conference doubles win over Miami (3/17), Virginia Tech (3/22) and Notre Dame (3/29)…Collected four-straight singles wins against Louisville (3/10), Florida State (3/15), Miami (3/17) and Virginia Tech (3/22)…Won Tech’s lone match at Miami, defeating Ana Madcur in a super tiebreak…Closed the regular season with a straight-set win over NC State’s (4/14) Liz Norman…Captured a three-set victory in the ACC Tournament over Syracuse’s (4/18) Guzal Yusupova, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (6)…Was victorious over the Orange in doubles play in the ACC Tournament, winning 6-2 with Otsuka…Upended Danielle Wolf of Ohio State (5/3) in straight-sets to help lift the Jackets over the Buckeyes in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Fall: Enrolled at Georgia Tech in January 2019.

Juniors: Attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla….Tennis Recruiting Network blue-chip recruit…Ranked as high as No. 21 by Tennis Recruiting…During 2018, went 11-4 in ITF junior tournaments, highlighted by an appearance in the singles semifinal at the Girl’s U16 Eddie Herr International tournament, which she lists as one of her most memorable athletic accomplishments…In Oct. 2017, won Grade 5 ITF singles event in Dominican Republic…Advanced to round of 16 in Delray Beach ITF event in May 2018.

PERSONAL: Chose Georgia Tech because of the great reputation for academics, amazing tennis program and Atlanta is close to home…Started playing tennis at age eight, hitting tennis balls with her dad for fun and her dad built a 20 foot wall in the backyard in Boston for her to hit tennis balls.
