Biography

Before Tech: A three-year letterwinner in swimming and diving under head coach Amy Spivia at Lambert High School … Was a two-time team captain for the swimming and diving team … A two-time Forsyth County diving champion (2017 and 2018) … Three-time team MVP (2016, 2017 and 2018) … Led Lambert High School to three-straight Forsyth County Championships (2016, 2017 and 2018) and the 2016 6A Georgia High School Association (GHSA) State Championship … Broke the Forsyth County diving record at the 2018 Forsyth County Championships … Set and reset new 6-dive and 11-dive Lambert High School diving records multiple times … Won the 1-meter diving event (451.15) at the 2018 Forsyth County Championship meet … Took first-place in the 16-18 Girls Platform dive (276.00) at the 2018 USA Diving Junior Region 6 Championships … Also a member of the Atlanta Diving Association … Also lettered in gymnastics for two seasons and both cheerleading and track and field for one year … Was the Region 6-AAAAAA pole vault champion … Named to the 2016 all-region team in the pole vault … Broke the school record in the pole vault at the 2016 Sectional Championships … Part of the gymnastics team that was crowned 2015 Forsyth County champions … Awarded the Triple Crown Award in 2016 by Lambert High School for lettering in three sports – track and field, diving and gymnastics … Graduated with honors … Was a DECA member … Served as an elementary school mentor.

Personal: Has an older brother… Grandfather, Vid Vuds Dekshenieks, played football for the University of Puget Sound (1958-62) … Uncle, Michael Dekshenieks, played lacrosse at University of Virginia (1985-89) … Also enjoys traveling, photography, hiking, going to other sporting events and watching reality TV shows … Began diving at the age of 15 in high school after competing as a gymnast growing up … Chose Tech because it is one of the best public universities academically in the country, the fantastic diving facility, the relationship with the team and coaching staff and its proximity to home … Intends to major in public policy.
