2023 (Junior): Despite battling various injuries at times throughout the season, appeared in all 12 regular-season games and made 11 starts at strong safety … Ranks third on the team in passes defended (7) and pass breakouts (6) … Is fourth on the team in tackles (62) … Was forced to leave the season opener versus Louisville (Sept. 1) early due to an injury and recorded just four tackles over the first two games of the season (one vs. Louisville and three vs. South Carolina State – Sept. 9) … Bounced back to record 19 tackles over the next three games, including a career-high nine at No. 17 Ole Miss (Sept. 16) and vs. Bowling Green (Sept. 30) … Turned in one of his finest performances of the season with two pass breakups and a critical interception in the end zone that thwarted a Miami (Fla.) scoring opportunity in the Yellow Jackets’ 23-20 win over the No. 17 Hurricanes (Oct. 8) … Had seven tackles against Boston College (Oct. 21) … Once again matched his career high with nine tackles in win over No. 17 North Carolina (Oct. 28) … Broke up two passes in 45-17 rout at Virginia (Nov. 4) … Closed the season with six tackles in bowl-clinching win against Syracuse (Nov. 18) and narrow defeat to No. 1 Georgia (Nov. 25).
2022 (Sophomore): Earned third-team all-ACC recognition in first season as a starter … Ranked the No. 3 safety in the ACC by Pro Football Focus … Earned all-America grades (80 or higher) from PFF in both overall defense (81.5) and pass coverage (86.8) … Played in all 12 games as a sophomore and started the last 10 games of the season … Led the Yellow Jackets and tied for third in the ACC and 43rd nationally with three interceptions (Sept. 24 at UCF, Oct. 20 vs. Virginia, Nov. 19 at North Carolina) … Returned INT vs. Virginia 37 yards for a touchdown … His interception late in the third quarter at North Carolina snapped UNC all-American Drake Maye’s sting of consecutive passes without an INT at 195, stalled a UNC drive inside its red zone and set up what proved to be the Yellow Jackets’ game-winning, 81-yard touchdown drive in a 21-17 win over the No. 13-ranked Tar Heels … Also led Tech and tied for 12th in the ACC with 10 passes defended (seven pass breakups to go along with three INTs) … Led Tech’s defensive backs and ranked fourth on the team overall with 52 tackles … Had four or more tackles in 9-of-12 games … Stuffed the stat sheet with a career-high nine tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and two pass breakups to go along with his pick-six vs. Virginia … Became one of only 16 NCAA Division I FBS players since 2000 with as many as nine tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception return for a touchdown in a game, and the first Yellow Jacket to pull off the feat since Bruce Jordan-Swilling at Virginia in 2017 (Tech is the only school with multiple players on the list) … Also had two PBUs to help spur Jackets’ wins at No. 24 Pitt (Oct. 8) and No. 13 UNC … Had six tackles against Miami (Fla.) (Nov. 12) … Recorded five stops apiece against Ole Miss (Sept. 17), at Florida State (Oct. 29) and at No. 1 Georgia (Nov. 26).
2021 (Freshman): Saw action in all 12 games, contributing both on special teams and as a reserve defensive back … Recorded nine tackles … Had a season-high three tackles at No. 6 Notre Dame (Nov. 20) … Also had multiple stops (2) in win at Duke (Oct. 9) … Recorded single tackles at No. 6 Clemson (Sept. 18), at Virginia (Oct. 23), vs. Virginia Tech (Oct. 30) and against No. 1 Georgia (Nov. 27).
2020 (Freshman – “Covid Year” – year of eligibility retained): Saw action in four late-season conference games — at Boston College (Oct. 24), vs. Notre Dame (Oct. 31), vs. Duke (Nov. 28) and at NC State (Dec. 5) … Made lone tackle of his freshman campaign at NC State.
High School: Rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN … A member of the prestigious Rivals250 and ESPN300 lists … Tabbed as the No. 10-ranked cornerback in the nation and No. 21-ranked player in the state of Florida by Rivals … Rated one of the top 15 recruits in Georgia Tech history by 247Sports … Four-year letterwinner … Team captain as a senior … Broke up 16 passes and racked up 88 tackles over final two prep seasons … Named freshman all-America in 2016 … Helped lead Trinity Christian to 36 wins over seasons, including Florida 3A state championship as a freshman and state semifinals as a junior … Coached by Verlon Dorminey.
Personal: Majoring in business administration … One of Georgia Tech’s most active student-athletes in community service projects … His long list of volunteer activities includes: Jackets Without Borders – international service trip to Villa del Rio, Puerto Rico, in May 2022 to help rebuild houses that were destroyed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017; For Others – organization that helps prevent vulnerable children from being placed in the foster care system; Michael Isenhour Toy Drive – annual service project spearheaded by Georgia Tech’s Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB) to collect and deliver toys to the Atlanta Children’s Shelter during the holiday season; Children’s Health Care of Atlanta – was one of several Yellow Jackets that recently visited Children’s Scottish Rite to spend time with patients … Represented Georgia Tech at the 2023 Black Student-Athlete Summit in Los Angeles and the Atlantic Coast Conference Unity Tour in Washington, D.C. in summer of 2023 … Also an active member Georgia Tech’s Student-Athlete Advisory Board.
