THE FLATS – A long awaited season debut and a season high performance steal the show in Week 10’s edition of #ProJackets in the National Football League.
Tariq Carpenter was elevated from the practice squad and made his season debut with the Steelers this weekend, recording a solo tackle in the process. Carpenter had eight tackles with the Green Bay Packers last year and is looking to make an immediate impact to a stout Steelers defense. The Steelers defeated the Packers 23-19.
Defensive end Adam Gotsis had himself a day on Sunday, tying his season high in total tackles with three. Gotsis has been extremely consistent for the Jaguars defensive line, and this game is to no surprise. The Jaguars fell to the 49ers, 34-3, over the weekend.
Punter Pressley Harvin III continues to deliver for the Steelers, booming five punts for 224 yards with his longest punt being 56 yards. The Steelers topped the Packers 23-19 on Sunday.
Keion White looks to be fully recovered from his injury, recording another solo tackle for the Patriots this week. The Patriots lost 10-6 to the Colts in Frankfurt, Germany as part of the NFL’s International Series this year.
Safety Juanyeh Thomas keeps proving why he’s a key part of the Cowboys’ secondary, picking up a solo tackle on Sunday. The Cowboys defeated the Giants 49-17 this weekend.
Shaq Mason played a significant role in the Texans win this weekend. The Texans’ strong offensive line only allowed one sack all game, which did not come from Mason. The Texans beat the Bengals 30-27 over the weekend.
Competitive Drive Initiative Turn 2
Looking to build on the success of last year’s Competitive Drive Initiative, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation and Georgia Tech athletics are partnering once again to launch Competitive Drive Initiative Turn 2. CDI Turn 2 has a goal of raising $2.5 million in new gifts to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund by Dec. 31, and Georgia Tech and the Georgia Tech Foundation will match eligible gifts to accelerate the impact for Tech athletics. Like last year, not only will gifts to CDI Turn 2 be matched, but so will the contributor’s benefits in the way of A-T Fund giving levels and priority points.
