Yellow Jackets In the NFL Update

Week Two in the NFL was a big one for three Yellow Jacket rookies.

Demaryius “Bay Bay” Thomas, who missed the season opener because of injury, made quite an NFL splash. He had eight receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Meanwhile, Green Bay safety Morgan Burnett recorded his first career interception and Tennessee defensive end Derrick Morgan earned a half-sack.

In other Tech alumni news, Mansfield Wrotto re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks and made his debut on Sunday.

Keith Brooking, LB, Dallas Cowboys (0-2)
Recorded five tackles in a surprising home loss to the Chicago Bears

Morgan Burnett, S, Green Bay Packers (2-0)
Registered his first career interception and had five tackles in the Packers’ second victory

James Butler, S, St. Louis Rams (0-2)
Picked off a pass and made a tackle for winless Rams

Tashard Choice, RB, Dallas Cowboys (0-2)
Had one reception for six yards and one rushing attempt against the Bears

Mike Cox, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (2-0)
Did not play in the surprising Chiefs’ 16-14 victory at Cleveland

Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0)
Did not dress for Steelers’ win against Derrick Morgan’s Tennessee team

Andrew Economos, LS, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0)
Bucs are off to a 2-0 start following a 20-7 victory against Carolina

Keyaron Fox, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0)
Had two tackles for a strong Pittsburgh defense in win over the Titans

Gary Guyton, LB, New Englad Patriots (1-1)
Recorded one tackle in loss to the New York Jets

Anthony Hargrove, DL, New Orleans Saints (1-0)
Played against the 49ers Monday night

Will Heller, TE, Detroit Lions (0-2)
Saw playing time in another tough loss to the Eagles

Cord Howard, OL, Buffalo Bills (0-2)
Saw significant game action in 34-7 loss to Morgan Burnett and the Green Bay Packers

Calvin Johnson, WR, Detroit Lions (0-2)
Caught four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown for hard-luck Lions

Michael Johnson, LB, Cincinnati Bengals (1-1)
Registered a tackle and a half-sack in Bengals’ victory

Dawan Landry, S, Baltimore Ravens (1-1)
Made second start of the season and had four tackles Sunday

Derrick Morgan, DE, Tennessee Titans (1-1)
Recorded three tackles and 0.5 sacks in loss to the Steelers

Chris Reis, S, New Orleans Saints (1-0)
The defending world champions played Monday night against the 49ers
