Atlanta – The Yellow Jackets step out of conference to play their final game of the regular season Sunday, Feb. 25 when they host the Longwood Lancers at 2 p.m. for Senior Day at the Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

Radio coverage for Sunday’s game is provided by the Georgia Tech-ISP Sports Network and heard locally on WREK-FM (91.1 FM) and online at www.WREK.org with Richard Musterer calling the game and Kurt Hoyt offering color analysis.

Tech notched their record ninth Atlantic Coast Conference win of the season in their last outing, a 73-49 drubbing of Virginia on Thursday, to improve to their best conference record in school history. The Jackets are 18-10 overall and 9-5 in the ACC; a vast improvement over last year’s 2-12 ACC finish that landed the Jackets in 11th place in the final conference standings. This season Tech holds the six spot in the league standings.

The Jackets are 12-3 at home this season, dropping home court decisions to No. 8 Georgia, Mississippi State and No. 2 North Carolina.

Tech won their lone meeting with the Lancers, on Dec. 20, 2005 in the AMC, 81-53.

In her fourth season as Tech’s head coach, MaChelle Joseph holds a 59-54 overall record and has guided her Jackets to one of the best season’s in school history, just two wins shy of their highest win total, 20, earned during the 2002-03 season.

Junior co-captain Chioma Nnamaka is coming off a 19-point performance against Virginia Thursday, going 5-for-8 from three-point land, while fellow co-captain and leading rebounder Janie Mitchell earned her third double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Not to be outdone, senior Stephanie Higgs came away with her seventh 20-point outing Thursday, notching 25 points for the Jackets. Higgs is Tech’s leading scorer with 15.5 points per game.

Tickets for Sunday’s game, $4 for adults and $2 for children and senior citizens, can be purchased by calling 888-TECH TIX, at Georgia Tech’s athletic website, www.ramblinwreck.com or at the gate. Doors open at 1 p.m.
