MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Georgia Tech softball senior Kelsi Weseman was selected 13th overall in the National Professional Fastpitch Draft by the Carolina Diamonds Wednesday.

Weseman was the first pick chosen in the fourth round by the newly relocated Diamonds whose current home is based out of Charlotte, N.C. The team is slated to play its home schedule at various venues throughout the Carolinas during its inaugural year of competition.

“I am very happy that Kelsi will be heading to Carolina to continue her softball career on the professional level,” said Head Coach Sharon Perkins. “Kelsi has been at the center of all of our success here at Tech. As a freshman, she was the top freshman in our conference and now in her senior year, she is one of the best players in the country.”
