Thomas, a management major, was an Academic All-America, a finalist for the 2013 Senior CLASS Award and recently posted a 4.0 GPA for the semester. It is the third career All-ACC Academic mention for Thomas. Dove, a materials science and engineering major, is on the All-ACC Academic Team for a second time, while it is the first for King, an industrial engineering major.

At least three Yellow Jackets have been named to the All-ACC Academic Baseball Team since its inception in 2006.

Thomas was drafted in the eighth round by the New York Yankees and is currently playing professionally with the Staten Island Yankees, while Dove was picked in the 14th round by the Philadelphia Phillies and is playing on their Gulf Coast League team. King is playing this summer for the Asheboro Copperheads in the Coastal Plain League.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned at least a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained at least a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career. The voting committee also considers athletic achievement and game participation when selecting the team.
