Tech Ranked 16th By Baseball America In Preseason Top 25

THE FLATS – Baseball America has published its preseason Top 25 for the 2013 season, and Georgia Tech holds downs the No. 16 spot. The reigning ACC Champion Yellow Jackets open the year Friday, February 15 versus Akron at Russ Chandler Stadium.

Having already been ranked No. 17 by Collegiate Baseball and No. 12 Perfect Game in the preseason polls, the Jackets have cracked the preseason Top 25 in each of head coach Danny Hall’s 20 seasons. Entering his 20th year at Tech and 26th overall as a head coach, Hall ranks 15th among active Division-I coaches with 1,025 wins.

Tech returns 23 letterwinners — led by preseason All-America seniors RHP Buck Farmer and OF Brandon Thomas — from last season’s team that went 38-26, won the school’s eighth ACC Championship, and reached the NCAA Regional for 26th time in the last 28 years.

Season tickets packages for Georgia Tech baseball start as low as $125 for Tech’s 34-game home schedule, which includes other preseason Top 25 programs – North Carolina (No. 1) and NC State (No. 8).
