Chris Dawson is in his first year as the Assistant Director of Ideation – Video.
Prior to his arrival at Georgia Tech, Dawson served as the Coordinator of New Media at Miami University from 2016-17. Dawson managed and created content for social media, in-venue presentation, ESPN3, CBS Sports and use on MiamiRedHawks.com. He lead the growth and engagement of all social media accounts, as well as the Miami Athletics SnapChat account which saw an uptick of two-hundred percent. Dawson also filled the Video Production Assistant role for Miami Athletics from 2014-15. During that time, he ran the video streams of all Miami Athletic events, setting up cameras, organizing work crews and directing the live productions. Additionally, he captured and help produce the intro videos for Miami hockey, men’s and women’s basketball during the 2014-15 season, and various video projects for Miami’s website.
Dawson previously also plied his trade as a multimedia expert as a web designer for Yellow Pages Group (2016) and media specialist for Spotted Horse Ranch (2012-14). He also served as creative content manager for Bowling Green’s Bowen-Thompson Student Union (2012-13), production student leader and production assistant at WBGU-TV (PBS) (2010-13) and videographer/editor for Showcase Video Productions (2011-12).
Dawson graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor of science in visual communication technology in May, 2014. He married the former Bryce Tibbs on June 5, 2016.
