MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

TEAM NOTES
• Georgia Tech started its fourth different lineup of the season, replacing Travis Jorgenson with Josh Heath and Charles Mitchell with Nick Jacobs. Heath had started Tech’s first 15 games of the season, coming off the bench the last four. Jacobs had started 13 of 19 games before NC State and had come off the bench the last four. Mitchell started every Tech game this season before NC State. Marcus Georges-Hunt and Adam Smith are the only Jackets to start every game this season.
• Tech won for just the third time in 14 games at PNC Arena; two of those wins have come with Brian Gregory as the Yellow Jackets’ head coach.
• Tech scored 90 points for the third time this season (116 vs. Cornell, 107 vs. Green Bay), 80 or more for the fifth time.
• Tech’s 90 points were the most it has scored against an ACC team under Brian Gregory (previous high – 82 vs. NC State on 1/11/12 and Wake Forest on 1/26/13) and the most since the Yellow Jackets scored 94 against Virginia (won 94-76) in a first-round ACC Tournament game on Mar. 13, 2008.
• The 83 points by NC State were the most scored by a Tech opponent in a game the Yellow Jackets won under Brian Gregory (previous high – 81 vs. Cornell in this year’s season opener).
• Tech led 47-33 at the half, the fifth time in seven ACC games it has led at the half. The Yellow Jackets are 2-2 when they have led at the half in conference play, 10-5 overall this season.
• This was Georgia Tech’s sixth halftime lead of 10 points or more, including a 35-24 advantage against Virginia on Jan. 9 and a 43-33 advantage over Louisville in ACC play. It was Tech’s fourth 40-point-plus half in an ACC game this season, the 14th this season.
• It was the largest halftime lead for Tech and the most points the Yellow Jackets have scored in a first half since leading 56-30 over Green Bay on Nov. 19.
• Tech had three players score 20 or more points (Georges-Hunt 26, Smith and Jacobs 20 each) in the same game for the first time since Feb. 14, 1998, when Dion Glover (20), Matt Harpring (21) and Michael Maddox (20) did so in the Yellow Jackets’ 105-86 win over Virginia.
• After getting no fast-break points at Notre Dame, Georgia Tech has averaged 17.7 points in transition in the last three games (28 vs. Virginia Tech, 14 vs. Louisville, 11 vs. NC State. Tech had reached double digits in that category only twice in 13 games before Virginia Tech. The Jackets allowed no fast-break points to NC State.
• Tech also has scored 40 points off opponent’s turnovers in the last three games after accumulating only 21 in the three games before that.
• Tech committed just nine turnovers, the 10th time this season the Yellow Jackets have stayed below 10 and the fourth time in seven ACC games. Tech ranks fourth in the ACC and 12th nationally at 10.2 per game (9.4 in conference games). Nationally, the Jackets have improved from 195th in the nation last year.
• Tech out-rebounded NC State, 43-35 . The Yellow Jackets have out-rebounded 16 of their 20 opponents, with two ties, this season; and five of seven ACC foes. Tech remains fourth in the ACC and is 22nd in the nation in rebound margin (+8.2 per game).
• Tech took 15 offensive rebounds and converted them into 15 second-chance points. The Jackets are fourth in the ACC and 27th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (13.8).
• Tech had 15 assists against nine turnovers, the 14th time this season and sixth time in seven ACC games the Yellow Jackets were on the plus side. The Jackets are 38th nationally in that category (+1.4 per game both in ACC games and in all games) after finishing the 2014-15 season 244th.
• Tech made 5-of-14 three-point attempts in the game, and are just 18-of-61 in the last five games. The Yellow Jackets still lead the ACC in three-point percentage against conference foes (38.7). They are fifth in the ACC and 71st nationally in three-point percentage (36.9) in all games.
• Tech won the free throw battle for the first time in ACC play, hitting 29-of-34 from the line compared to 19-of-24 for NC State. In Tech’s first six ACC games, the Jackets were out-scored from the line, 134-74, 100-33 in the second half of those games. Against NC State, Tech was 23-for-28 from the stripe in the second half.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Marcus Georges-Hunt led Tech with 26 points, his third consecutive game over 20 points (25.3 average). It was his seventh 20+ game of this season, 16th of his career.
• Georges-Hunt went 9-for-9 from the free throw line and is 21-for-21 over his last two games, 31-of-33 over his last five games. He has made his last 22 in a row to improve his season success rate to 83.1 percent, 86.0 percent in ACC games.
• Georges-Hunt improved his career scoring total to 1,454 points and remains in 18th place on Georgia Tech’s all-time scoring list. He has passed 17 players on that list this season.
• Georges-Hunt has scored in double figures in 16 of 20 games this season, 79 of 114 games in his career (38 ACC games).
Nick Jacobs logged his fifth straight double-digit game off the bench, scoring 20 points, his most since scoring 23 against Tennessee in the second game of the season. Jacobs, who made his first start in five games, and hit 8-of-14 shots from the floor. Jacobs has averaged 15.4 points (31-for-56 from the floor) and 6.8 rebounds over that stretch. In ACC games, he has averaged 13.0 points and hit 50.7 percent from the floor, 88.2 percent from the free throw line.
Charles Mitchell notched his 12th double-double this season (11 points, 10 rebounds) and his first since getting 20 and 17 at Pittsburgh on Jan. 6. It was his 15th double-digit board game of the season and 34th of his career. He remains the ACC leader in rebound average in all games (10.9), but is sixth in ACC games (9.6).
Adam Smith scored 20 points in the game, his fourth game of 20+ this season and third against an ACC team. He is averaging 16.9 points in ACC games, 14.4 overall this season. Smith scored in double digits for the 10th time in 11 games and for the 16th time this season.
• Smith hit four threes in the first half and went 4-for-10 for the game, continuing his remarkable success shooting on the road in the ACC season. Smith has hit 50 percent (22-of-44) of his three-point tries in Tech’s three ACC road games, compared to 28.6 percent (6-for-21) in the three home games. He leads the ACC in three-point percentage in conference games (43.1 pct.) and in all games (43.4).
• Smith leads the ACC in three-pointers per game (4.00 in ACC games, 3.3 in all games). He ranks 18th nationally in three-pointers per game and 35th in percentage.
• Smith has made at least one in every game this season and in his last 22 straight games dating back to last season. He had made at least three treys in 14 games. He has made at least one in 89 of 98 games in his career for a total of 230 after the Notre Dame game. His career total would rank sixth all-time Georgia Tech had he played his entire career here.
• In 20 games, Smith has made more three-pointers (66) than Tech’s leader in each of the last six seasons. They are the most since Lewis Clinch accumulated 71 (in 31 games) in the 2008-09 season.
