Feb. 10, 2018

Day 1 Results: Tiger Paw Invite | Music City Challenge | Iowa State Classic

THE FLATS – Continuing his outstanding year of competition, Nahom Solomon broke the indoor school record in the 3000m with a time of 8:02.00 en route to a second-place finish at the Iowa State Classic on Friday evening.

His performance breaks the 8:03.13 record set by Jeremy Greenwald on January 2016 and ranks third-fastest in the ACC and top 30 in the country. The mark eclipses his previous personal-best by more than two full seconds (prev.: 8:04.71), which was set earlier this year at the Vanderbilt Invite (Jan. 19).

The Yellow Jackets continue their busy weekend on Saturday, Feb. 10 when they conclude the Tiger Paw Invitational, the Music City Challenge and Avery Bartlett’s 800m race at the Iowa State Classic.
