THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech softball team (12-17, 1-5 ACC) hosts Virginia Tech (12-14, 7-2) in a three-game series beginning Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 12 p.m.

Promotions
Saturday’s games mark Georgia Tech’s annual StrikeOut Cancer games. The Yellow Jackets will don pink jerseys and auction the jerseys off online from March 26- April 9. Bidding begins at $50 and increase in increments of $10.

In addition, we’re honored to have Assistant Vice President and Chief of Staff in the Office of the President at Georgia Tech, Lynn Durham, throw out an honorary first pitch before the first game. Durham is a two-time cancer survivor and serves on an advisory board for the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education.

“We are blessed to be able to honor and play for these individuals who have fought and continue to fight to beat cancer,” head coach Shelly Hoerner said. “Breast cancer hits home within our GT softball family so to be able to help promote breast cancer awareness this weekend truly means a lot to all of us. These individuals that have been affected by this awful disease helps in giving us perspective on what life is really about. Their fight and determination to beat cancer is indescribable.”

Between the games of the doubleheader we will have a spring egg hunt in the grass behind the first base dugout.

Parking
There are several events on campus this weekend. Fans are encouraged to park in the McCamish Lot. If that lot is full, East O’Keefe and Family Housing are available.
