ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia Tech softball team (13-20) fell, 5-0, at No. 9 Georgia (30-5) Tuesday night at Jack Turner Stadium.

How It Happened
It was a pitcher’s duel until the fourth inning and tied 0-0 when Georgia took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a leadoff home run by Tina Iosefa. The Bulldogs’ bats went to work and Georgia plated two additional runs on three hits to take a 3-0 lead.

The Bulldogs tacked on an additional run in each of the fifth and sixth innings to take a 5-0 lead.

Emily Anderson (9-12) suffered the loss, allowing five runs, two earned with two strikeouts. Georgia’s Chelsea Wilkinson (16-2) earned the win, and Kylie Bass threw two innings of relief.

“We always know facing Georgia is going to be a tough game, especially when you face one of the top pitchers in the country,” head coach Shelly Hoerner said. “Their staff kept us off balance and pitched a great game. We made adjustments throughout the game, but it wasn’t good enough; hats off to a well-played game by UGA.”
