2017 (Junior): Appeared in and started nine games at middle linebacker … Was limited for much of the middle part of the season due to a lower-body injury that cost him two games (Oct. 21 vs. Wake Forest and Nov. 4 vs. Virginia) and parts of two others (Oct. 14 at Miami and Oct. 28 at Clemson) … Still finished fourth on the team with 51 tackles … Also recorded three quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss … Recorded at least three tackles in each of his seven full games … Opened the season with five stops and a pass breakup against his hometown Tennessee Volunteers (Sept. 4) … Had eight stops in home opener versus Jacksonville State (Sept. 9) … Returned from injury to record nine tackles, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss in win over No. 17 Virginia Tech (Nov. 11), earning ACC Co-Linebacker of the Week honors … Tallied a season-high 11 stops at Duke (Nov. 18) … Had eight tackles (all solo) in season finale against Georgia (Nov. 25) … After returning from injury against VT, totaled 28 tackles over the final three games of the campaign.
