#ProJackets: Goodlett Advances to WNBA Finals

Sept. 4, 2014

INDIANPOLIS – Following a 75-63 victory against the Indiana Fever in game three of the WNBA Eastern Conference Finals, former women’s basketball player Sasha Goodlett and the Chicago Sky are headed to their first-ever WNBA Finals.

With the 2-1 series victory, the Sky advances to take on the Western Conference champion Phoenix Mercury in the 2014 WNBA Finals.

Goodlett has seen action in all six games of the playoffs. The former Yellow Jacket played in 34 games this season, starting 15, and averaging 3.4 points per game. Goodlett pulled down an average of 2.4 rebounds per game and played 12.9 minutes per game.

The Sky heads to Phoenix for Game 1 of the WNBA Finals presented by Boost Mobile on Sunday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. CT. The game will broadcast on ABC. Phoenix will host the second game of the series at the US Airways Center on Tuesday, September 9 at 8:00 pm. CT. Game two will air on ESPN. The Sky will return home to host game three of the series at the UIC Pavilion on Friday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. CT.

While this is the first trip to the WNBA Finals for the Chicago Sky, Goodlett is no stranger to the WNBA Finals. Goodlett became the first former Yellow Jacket to win a WNBA title when the Indiana Fever defeated the Minnesota Lynch in the 2012 WNBA Finals. Goodlett, a 2012 Georgia Tech graduate and 2012 Second Team All-ACC selection, was selected in the first round, 11th overall, by Indiana in the 2012 WNBA Draft.

Following the 2012 season, Goodlett headed overseas to play. The Bolton, Miss. native played for Woori Hansae in the South Korean WKBL. In 40 games, Goodlett averaged 9.7 ppg and 6.5 rpg and was selected to the Koren WKBL All-Star game. Goodlett also has experience playing for the Arras Pays d’Artois Basket Feminin in the French league and at the Heilongjiang Cenneng (WBCA) in the Chinese League. She then signed a contract with the Chicago Sky in April 2014.
