Georgia Tech’s Loss Today Gives The Yellow Jackets…

… a record of 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the ACC

… a record of 25-12 in three seasons under head coach Paul Johnson, including a 15-7 mark in ACC games

… a 14-4 record at home under Johnson

… a .500 record overall for the first time since being 3-3 on Oct. 6, 2007

… a .500 record in November for the first time since being 6-6 on Nov. 29, 2003

… three consecutive losses for the first time since 2006 when they lost their final regular season game (vs. Georgia), the ACC championship game (vs. Wake Forest) and the Gator Bowl (vs. West Virginia)

… a 10-6 all-time record vs. Miami, including an 8-3 mark in Bobby Dodd Stadium

… a 19-10 record vs. Coastal Division opponents since divisional play began in 2005, including a 10-3 mark at home

Team Notes

Tevin Washington is the third Yellow Jacket to rush for 100 yards in a game this season, joining Joshua Nesbitt and Anthony Allen

… Tech ran for 308 yards, topping 300 for the sixth time this season and for the 18th time in 37 games under Paul Johnson. Tech is now 15-3 when rushing for 300 yards under Johnson

… Miami’s 79-yard pass completion in the third quarter was the longest by a Tech opponent since Oct. 6, 2005 when NC State completed an 80-yard pass

… Tech allowed an opponent individual 100 receiving yards for the first time this season, for the first time since Nov. 7, 2009 when Wake Forest’s Marshall Williams had 111 yards

… Tech allowed 500 yards of total offense for the second time this season (also vs. NC State)

… With Logan Walls not starting today because of a sternum injury, Tech’s starting lineup on the defensive side of the ball was altered for the first time since the Oct. 2 Wake Forest game. The Jackets had used the same starting 11 in each of the last four games until T.J. Barnes replaced Walls at DT today. Barnes is just the 16th different player to start on defense this season.

… Miami’s opening drive of 88 yards was the second-longest drive allowed by Tech this season. The Hurricanes added another 88-yard TD drive later in the first quarter

… Tech trailed by 14 points (14-0) at the end of the first quarter for the first time since Sept. 22, 2007 at Virginia (21-7); the last time the Jackets trailed by 14 points at the end of the first quarter at home came in 2003 against Georgia

… Tech’s three first-half points tie for its fewest in any half this season (also 3 points in the first half at Clemson)

… Miami was 0-for-4 on third downs in the first half

… Tech has trailed at some point in eight of 10 games this season
