LANZAROTE, Spain – Rising sophomore guard Antonia Peresson is adding to her international resume this summer, playing for the Italian National team in the U20 European Championship in Lanzarote, Spain.

The U20 European Championship began on Thursday, July 2 with group play. Peresson and the Italian National Team are in group C, along with Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary. Italy and Spain face off with each other today in the first round. On Wednesday, July 3, Peresson and her national team face the Czech Republic at 11:15 a.m. ET and on July 4, Italy faces Hungary at 9 a.m. ET.
Peresson is no stranger to international experience. The Pordenone, Italy, native, won a bronze medal during the 2014 U20 European Championship after averaging 3.0 points per game and 0.5 rebounds per game. She also played for Italy in the 2013 U18 European Championship, the2012 FIBA U17 World Championship for Women, the 2012 U18 European Championship and the 2010 and 2011 U16 European Championships.
During her freshman year on the Flats, Peresson played in 32 games, starting 22. She averaged 3.9 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game. Peresson shot 30.2 percent from behind the 3-point line (32-for-106) and handed out at least three assists on 10 different occasions.
