SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Georgia Tech softball team (11-19, 4-8 ACC) fell 5-0 at Notre Dame (19-11, 4-5) as the Fighting Irish completed the series sweep Sunday at Melissa Cook Stadium.

The Jackets are back in action with two midweek games this week. Tech takes on in-state rival Georgia State on Tuesday in Panthersville, Ga. at 6 p.m. and heads to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for a Wednesday matchup against No. 5 Alabama at 3 p.m. ET.

Notre Dame got on the board in the second inning thanks to an RBI-double from Morgan Reed to score pinch runner Carly Piccinich. The Irish scored one run in each of the next four innings for the 5-0 lead.

The Jackets generated some offense with a walk by Courtney Ziese and an infield single off the bat of Colleen Darragh in the fifth inning, but Tech couldn’t get the timely hitting to score the runners.

Kylie Kleinschmidt (3-12) was pinned with the loss, surrendering five runs, four earned, on six hits while striking out four in 6.0 innings pitched.

Rachel Nasland (10-6) earned the win, limiting the Jackets to one hit through seven innings of work.
