No. 6 Jackets Welcome No. 47 Northwestern

THE FLATS – After a bye weekend, the Georgia Tech women’s tennis team returns to the court to welcome No. 47 Northwestern for a midweek match on Wednesday. First serve at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex is slated for 3 p.m.

THE SCENE: Georgia Tech, winners of the past eight matches, opens a three-match week hosting Northwestern on Wednesday. The Jackets, who last defeated Miami on March 14, look to remain unbeaten at home this season, boasting a 9-0 mark. Tech, ranked No. 6 in the latest ITA polls released today, owns an overall record of 14-2 and closes out non-conference play facing the Wildcats.

NU comes into Wednesday having dropped the last three matches and seven of the past eight. The Wildcats carry a 5-7 overall mark.

ITA RANKINGS – In the latest ITA rankings released Tuesday, Tech boasts three Jackets in singles rankings: Rasheeda McAdoo (No. 46), Johnnise Renaud (No. 104) and Paige Hourigan (No. 113). In doubles, Tech’s duo of Rasheeda McAdoo and Johnnise Renaud sit at No. 19. The Wildcats have Maddie Lipp (No. 114) ranked in singles and three doubles tandems ranked in Lipp/Alex Chatt (No. 10) and Brooke Rischbieth/Erin Larner (No. 78). Lipp is also ranked No. 74 with partner Rheeya Doshi.

LAST TIME OUT – The Jackets captured a pair of ACC wins, sweeping Louisville and edging Miami 5-2.
