WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Making its third straight NCAA round of 16 appearance, No. 4 Georgia Tech women’s tennis will meet No. 12 Pepperdine on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The remainder of the NCAA Championships will be held at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex with Wake Forest serving as the host.

THE SCENE: Georgia Tech reached the round of 16 following a pair of victories over Eastern Kentucky and Winthrop in the NCAA Regional. The Jackets carry a 23-5 overall record into Thursday’s meeting. Pepperdine owns a 24-2 overall record after also hosting a regional where it defeated Idaho and Kansas to reach the round of 16.

The Jackets and Waves met in February during the regular season with Pepperdine taking a 4-2 win at ITA National Team Indoors in the quarterfinals. Pepperdine took the doubles point and three singles matches to clinch the win, while Tech’s Nami Otsuka and Kenya Jones collected singles wins for the Jackets with an adjusted lineup.

Tech is making its 19th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships dating back to 2000. Last season, the Jackets reached the round of 16 in Athens, Ga., before falling to Oklahoma State, 4-3.

ITA RANKINGS: Tech and sits at No. 4 in the nation, while Pepperdine comes in as the 12th-ranked team in the country. Below are the individual rankings:
