No. 3 Jackets Prepare for Final Pair of Regular Season Matches

THE FLATS – With two matches left of the regular season, the No. 3 Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will head to Virginia Tech for a 3 p.m. match on Friday before closing out the regular season at home on Sunday hosting Clemson at 2 p.m. Sunday will also serve as Tech’s senior day.

THE SCENE: Currently on a four-match win streak, the Jackets sit in third place in the ACC standings with a 10-2 league mark. Tech boasts an 18-4 overall ledger on the season. Coming off a pair of wins at Pittsburgh and Boston College, Tech will conclude this three-match road swing on Friday at Virginia Tech. On Sunday, the Jackets will honor seniors Paige Hourigan and Johnnise Renaud prior to first serve against Clemson.

Virginia Tech comes into its final two matches of the regular season with a 12-9 overall record and 3-9 ACC mark. The Hokies have dropped the past four matches, most recently falling at Miami and Florida State. Natalie Novonta leads the Hokies from the No. 1 position and carries a 22-9 overall record and stands at 6-6 against league opponents.

Clemson heads to Virginia before making the trek to Tech on Sunday. The Tigers own a 12-11 ledger this season and stand at 5-7 in the ACC. Clemson has won four of the past six matches, despite having most recently fallen to North Carolina, 7-0. Marie Leduc owns a 6-5 ledger against ACC opponents and leads Clemson from the top seed.
