Nissan #ProJackets Golf Report

March 22, 2017

THE FLATS – The PGA Tour, and Georgia Tech’s alumni contingent along with it, splits up this week, with Matt Kuchar competing in the second World Golf Championships event of the season in Austin, Texas, and fourth others heading to the Puerto Rico Open.

Kuchar opened the Dell Technologies Match Play event at Austin Country Club against Brendan Steele in Wednesday’s opening round, with 550 FedEx Cup points at stake for the winner. Kuchar entered the event ranked No. 73 in points for the 2016-17 season.

Meanwhile, Chesson Hadley, Bryce Molder, Cameron Tringale and Richy Werenski resume their schedules following a week off in Puerto Rico, with Hadley returning to the scene of his only PGA Tour victory in 2014. Hadley, attempting to earn back his PGA Tour card on the Web.com Tour this season, competed in two PGA Tour events during the fall portion of the season, making the cut on the RSM Classic. Tringale and Werenski are currently ranked No. 107 and 108 in FedEx Cup points, while Molder is No. 179.

Web.com Tour: After a month-long break, Anders Albertson, Seth Reeves and Nicholas Thompson are back in action this weekend at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open in Broussard, La. Thompson currently ranked ninth on the Web.com Tour earnings list (top 25 at the end of the regular-season earn PGA Tour cards for 2017-18), while Hadley ranks No. 33, Reeves is No. 66 and Albertson is No. 75 after four events. The tour plays the next four weekends before taking a one-week break.

PGA Tour Champions: Larry Mize stayed perfect with four cuts made in four events last weekend when he tied for 49th place at the Tucson Conquistadores Classic, posting a 4-under-par 215. He sits at No. 36 in Schwab Cup earnings for 2017.

Following an opening-round 70, Stewart Cink reflects on his play in the 2017 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard with Mark Zecchino from PGA TOUR Radio

In the final round of the 2017 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard, Ollie Schniederjans puts his 216-yard tee shot inside of 2 feet, setting up an easy birdie conversion on the par-3 17th hole.
