THE FLATS — Georgia Tech #ProJacket Charlie Blackmon will not only start for the National League in this year’s MLB All-Star game, but he will also compete for the NL in the Home Run Derby on Monday night, July 10, at 8 p.m. ET.

Blackmon leads the NL in hits (107), total bases (198) and triples (10). He also ranks in the top five in the NL in games played (83), plate appearances (379), at bats (342), runs scored (67), singles (62), runs created (74) and extra base hits (45).

Another highlight last week was the return of Brandon Cumpton to the mound, as the Tech #ProJacket was moved up to the Altoona Curve (Double-A) for the Pittsburgh Pirates as he continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery.

Fellow #ProJacket starting pitcher Brandon Gold was promoted by the Colorado Rockies to the Class A Advanced Lancaster JetHawks of the California League.
