Nevo Medals at European Short Course Championships

ISTANBUL – Georgia Tech men’s swimmer Gal Nevo finished off his impressive outing at the European Short Course Championships over the weekend finishing third in the 400-IM to earn an individual medal at the event held in Istanbul.

Nevo medaled in the event after hitting the wall in 4:00.55 in the finals held on Saturday afternoon. Nevo finished two spots behind László Cseh of Hungary, who finished the event in a world-record time of 3:57.17.

On Friday, Nevo finished fifth in the finals of the 200-IM, with a time of 1:54.17.

Nevo, the 2008-09 ACC Swimmer of the Year and and 08-09 All American selection, was representing him home country of Israel in the meet. He and the rest of the Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Jan. 16 when they take on ACC-foe NC State at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
