McKeirnan Competes in Pentahalon on Day One of ACC Indoor Championships

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Junior Kayla McKeirnan finished 11th in the pentathlon to kick off the ACC Indoor Championships at the Rector Field House on the campus of Virginia Tech on Thursday.

In the pentathlon, McKeirnan finished with 3415 points to register the 11th place finish. In the five events that make up the pentathlon, McKeirnan finished with a time of 9.17 in the 60m hurdles, posted a 5′ 2¼” effort in the high jump, a 33′ 6¾” mark in the shot put, put up a 16′ 9¼” mark in the long jump and crossed the finish line in 2:29.88 in the 800m dash.

Action gets underway tomorrow at the ACC Indoor Championships beginning at 1 p.m. with the finals of the men’s long jump and the men’s weight throw. Also, qualifying for the men’s mile run starts at 1:30 p.m., with qualifying for the women’s mile beginning at 1:50 p.m.
