McKee, Greenwald Compete At NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Georgia Tech senior Julienne McKee competed Friday in her second event of the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus.

McKee placed 23rd in the triple jump with a distance of 12.42m (40-09.00). The Marietta, Ga., native competed Wednesday in the long jump and placed 20th with a distance of 6.09m (19-11.75).

McKee earned honorable mention All-America status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in both the long and triple jumps, marking the fifth and sixth All-America honors for McKee.

Junior Jeremy Greenwald ran in his first career NCAA Championship event Thursday in the 1500-meter semifinals. He placed 17th with a time of 3:47.36, but it was not fast enough to qualify for the finals Saturday.

Jonathan Gardner wraps up the Jackets’ time in Eugene with the men’s triple jump Saturday at 3:30 p.m.  The Chicago, Ill., native placed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 15.86m (52-0.50) to earn a trip to his second career NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Saturday’s events will be broadcast live ESPNU starting at 5 p.m. ET, respectively.
