Lance Storrs in the Bahamas - Day 1

May 14, 2009

Nassau, The Bahamas – Hello GT basketball fans. This is Lance Storrs with a daily update on my Nassau, Bahamas trip for a week.

My first day started off with me waking up at 7 a.m. to catch a flight to Charlotte, N.C. to meet the coaches and players I will be with for the next week. The flight was at 9:30 a.m., and I ended up meeting the guys. Two of my teammates are from Syracuse – Scoop Jardine and Rick Jackson, and my roommate is Kevin Jones from West Virginia. Also, a couple guys on the team are from Columbia University.

We arrived in Nassau at 4 p.m. and checked into our hotel at 5:30, but turned around and played our first game at 8 p.m. With all the guys suffering from jetlag, we were able to pull out a win in overtime by two, beating the National Bahamas team, 95-93. I played well at the end, but struggled in the beginning. I finished the night with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Now I just finished eating some food for a late night snack. I have weights in the morning at 7 a.m., and 11 a.m. individual workouts. It’s 1 a.m. so I am about to hit the sack. Signing out until tomorrow to give you more updates on my trip and the team.

Holla!!!!
