Jackets Clash with Tar Heels in ACC Quarterfinals

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball (27-23, 12-9 ACC) makes its first postseason appearance since 2014 as the No. 6 seed in the 2018 ACC Softball Championship, hosting third-seeded North Carolina (29-25, 15-8 ACC) in the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 10th at Mewborn Field. First pitch is slated for 7:30 p.m. on RSN and ACC Network Extra.

Opponent info:
The Tar Heels lead the all-time series 40-36 but the Jackets came away with the series win earlier this season. Tech snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Tar Heels with a sweep of the doubleheader at Mewborn Field to steal the series. It clinched the Jackets’ fourth ACC series victory, the first time Tech has reached that mark since 2012.
