THE FLATS – A highly-rated junior golfer from Georgia who transferred to Tech from Akron and enrolled for the fall, 2011 semester, Drew Czuchry waited his turn and came up big for the Yellow Jackets this fall.

Now living in Alpharetta, Czuchry played in four fall events, earning his first career top-10 finish (T9) at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup. He shot 66 in the second round, and lifted Tech to the team title when he holed a chip shot from off the 18th green in the final round. He also finished T32 at Carpet Capital Collegiate, T42 at Jerry Pate National and T46 at the U.S. Collegiate Championship, and averaged 72.67 strokes over 12 rounds.

Watch Czuchry sink his chip shot at the final hole of the final round to lift Georgia Tech to victory at the DICK’S Sporting Goods Challenge.

Czuchry attended Akron for the 2010-11 year and enjoyed a fine fall campaign, leading the Zips in stroke average before deciding to transfer. At Tech, he played in just four events before his senior year, but earned a spot on the ACC Academic Honor Roll in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
