Hamilton-Carter Named To All-ACC Academic Team

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech senior Danielle Hamilton-Carter was named to the 2012-13 All-ACC Women’s Basketball Academic Team.

Hamilton-Carter is the seventh Yellow Jacket to earn the honor and the first since Deja Foster in 2010. The award goes to student-athletes with a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during her academic career. The award is based 60 percent on academic achievement and 40 percent on athletic accomplishment.

The Stockholm, Sweden, native started 17 games for the Yellow Jackets in 2012-13 and averaged 5.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. The History, Technology and Society major was second on the team in blocks and third in rebounds. Hamilton-Carter finished the year shooting 50 percent from the field.
