Gotsis, Burden Earn Coaches' All-ACC Honors

Dec. 9, 2015

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech senior DT Adam Gotsis and junior C Freddie Burden were named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Football team as selected by the conference’s head coaches.

Gotsis earned mention on the third team, while Burden was an honorable mention pick. It is the second consecutive Coaches’ All-ACC mention for Gotsis, who was a second-team selection last season; and the first for Burden.

Gotsis was among the league’s elite defensive lineman but had his senior season cut short by a knee injury suffered in the Virginia game on October 31. The Abbotsford, Australia native finished the year with 31 tackles, five tackles for loss, and a team-leading three sacks. His career at Tech included 110 tackles, 27.5 for loss and 12.5 sacks.

Burden anchored an offensive line that helped Georgia Tech lead the ACC in rushing for a ninth consecutive season. Burden, who was an honorable mention All-ACC pick by the media last year, has started all 26 games at center over the last two seasons.

Last week, the media’s All-ACC Team was released that included Gotsis, Trey Braun and Bryan Chamberlain as honorable mention picks.

The selections of Burden, Braun and Chamberlain mark the 11th consecutive season that at least one Georgia Tech offensive lineman has earned All-ACC honors
