CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. Bailey Hunter and Kaleigh Colson tallied double-doubles to lead the Georgia Tech volleyball team past Boston College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-22). The Yellow Jackets improve to 16-8 overall and 7-6 in league action, while the Eagles fall to 10-15 on the season and 4-9 in ACC play.

The Jackets now lead the all-time series 15-2 against Boston College, having swept the Eagles earlier this season as well.

Hunter led all players with 15 kills to go along with 10 digs for her eighth double-double of the season, while Colson dished out 38 assists and put up a team-high 14 digs for her seventh double-double. Monique Mead added 13 kills of her own and Nicki Meyer also put up double-digit digs with 12.

Boston College had two players record seven kills as the Eagles hit for .078 as a team.

The first set was a back and forth battle as the two teams traded the lead four times and the score was tied on nine occasions. With the score knotted 13-13, the Yellow Jackets settled in and tallied seven unanswered points to take a definite 20-14 lead. Tech allowed BC two more points before closing the opener 25-16.

After a series of ties in the second game, Tech started to pull away courtesy of a service ace by Chanell Clark-Bibbs and a solo block by Hunter. BC then went on a 4-0 rally to tie the score again, 9-9. The Yellow Jackets followed that with a 7-2 run capped off by a pair Jennifer Percy kills to take a 16-11 lead. Georgia Tech went ahead 2-0 in the match, claiming the second stanza 25-20.

Game three was a close struggle. The teams were tied 15-15 when Tech strung together five-straight points for a 20-15 lead. BC threatened a comeback, pulling within two points, 24-22, but the Yellow Jackets were able to put the match away thanks to a Boston College blocking error.

Georgia Tech continues its four-match road swing with matches at Virginia and Virginia Tech next weekend. The Yellow Jackets take on Virginia on Friday at 7 p.m., before a matchup at Virginia Tech Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
