THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech softball team (14-17) wraps up a six-game road swing Wednesday against Kennesaw State (23-5). First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Bailey Park, and admission is $6 for adults and $4 for youths (ages 3-12).

Georgia Tech (14-17)
The Jackets are 4-6 in their last 10 games and look to pick up a victory against the Owls, before continuing conference this weekend with a home series against NC State. Most recently, Tech experienced a pair of setbacks to No. 7 Missouri.

As a team, Tech is hitting .283 and five Yellow Jackets are hitting over .300. Junior Ashley Thomas leads the team and is third in ACC with a .392 batting average. Her 30 runs and 40 hits are both team highs and are second in the league.

Senior pitcher Hope Rush is 7-10 in the circle with a team-best 3.80 ERA. A double threat, Rush is third on the team with a .364 average and leads the team with 10 home runs.

Kennesaw State (23-5)
The Owls take on Georgia State Tuesday before hosting the Yellow Jackets and are 8-2 in their last 10 contests.

Sharon Swanson leads the team with a .388 batting average, six home runs and 21 RBI, and is tied for first with 13 runs and 33 hits. As a team, KSU is outscoring opponents, 104-60 and is batting .264.

Three of the Owls’ four pitchers have an ERA less than 2.00 led by Amanda Henderson’s 1.08 ERA. Henderson (13-1) is KSU’s number one pitcher with 20 runs, 15 earned runs and 122 strikeouts in 97.2 innings pitched.

Series History
Wednesday marks the 17th meeting between the two teams. The Jackets won a pair of games against the Owls last season by scores of 9-1 (5) and 6-3 in six innings due to heavy rain. In the second of the two games, Ashley Thomas went 3-for-4 with a run and Karly Fullem was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
