Dyke Named Verizon Academic All-America

Georgia Tech senior punter Dan Dyke was named to the Verizon Academic All-America football team for the fourth straight year.

A native of Winter Springs, Fla., Dyke maintains a 3.87 grade point average in Electrical Engineering and is scheduled to graduate this semester.

On the football field, Dyke boasts a career average of 41.5 yards per kick, currently the best mark in school history. This season, he has averaged 39.7 yards per punt.

The Verizon Academic All-America teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Nominees must be a starter or important reserve with a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.
